Modern Warfare 3 is incoming!

Looking back on the past Call of Duty titles, it is easy to see that there is a fundamental difference between each of the releases. While they all fall under the same overlying title of COD, the games have all gone in different directions. While Treyarch has taken the game in one direction, Infinity Ward has taken it in a very different one. Modern Warfare 2 was a release that any player will have a hard time forgetting. While the campaign was, for lack of a better term, epic, and left you wanting more while also feeling satisfied with what you had received, the multiplayer functionality and gameplay leaves the user with an exponential amount of gaming play and replay.

Modern Warfare 2 is one of those games that was so widely anticipated and talked about, that most people, including myself, thought there was no way it would ever be able to do what we had all hoped it would. Looking back on it, the game accomplished just that. It did everything that anyone wanted it to, and more. Modern Warfare 2 called for users to put in many hours in order to be the best in their game choice, whether it be playing free-for-all, TDM, or Domination. So, after doing all that it has done, what’s left to do after making Modern Warfare 2? Well, make Modern Warfare 3, of course!

Modern Warfare 3 is set up to be a released on November 8th and the trailer can be seen here:   Official Reveal Trailer, which will help you to get a better idea about what you can expect to see in the new release from Infinity Ward. There are, however, a couple of problems with releasing a game after you release a game changer like “Modern Warfare 2.” One of those problems is that the level of expectation everyone has is going to be so high that it will be extremely difficult to meet, no matter what the next release is. Another issue is the fact that Infinity Ward is now not only going to be compared to their last release, but they will also be faced with the daunting task of competing with Black Ops. Black Ops was considered by many to be the best COD release ever. While that idea may be debatable, Black Ops was a great game which had game play that proved to be fun, difficult, and an amazing amount of replay value. Not to mention that it sold over 5.6 million copies in just 24 hours.

So, quick breakdown, there is a huge chance that Modern Warfare 3 will be one of, if not the, best-selling game in history. I am confident from the trailer, and what I know of Infinity Ward, that they are not only prepared for this challenge, but all too excited to take it on full force. It’s every studio’s dream to be working on a game that is so huge that it is expected to be the best. We must remember, however, that if the game is sub-par, there are going to be quite a few people who are not only upset with your game, but with the letdown from your studio. Good luck Infinity Ward, I am sure you will do fine… at least I hope so.
